Cretacolor, as the only Austrian manufacturer of artists' materials, can look back on decades of experience and tradition and stands for high-quality products. The brand impresses again and again with comprehensive sets and new product combinations and appeals to both beginners and professional artists from all over the world. Cretacolor has a wide range of products for the most diverse painting styles, with every product reflecting years of expertise through vivid colour intensity, a soft, rich texture, and outstanding lightfastness.
About this product:
- Versatile use – this fine charcoal powder is ideal for monochromatic drawings, subtle tonal transitions, and quickly covering large areas;
- Easy application – the powder spreads evenly across surfaces and can be applied with a brush, your fingers, or a paper blending stump;
- Multi-technique medium – apply it dry over textured paper, or dilute with water, mix with acrylic mediums or other binders to achieve a range of effects, from delicate washes to thick impasto;
- Easy to correct – unwanted lines or overly dark areas can be easily lifted with a soft eraser;
- Convenient packaging – comes in a sealed 175 g plastic jar with a screw-top lid, making it safe to store and easy to use.
Important to know: when working with fine pigment powder, it's recommended to wear a protective mask to avoid inhaling dust. Once your artwork is complete, applying a fixative is recommended to prevent smudging and flaking.
